A Prayer for Year’s End

Loving Father,

You are good when you give,
when you take away;
when the sun shines on me
when night gathers over me.

You loved me before the creation of the world.

In love you redeemed me, in spite of my hard, ungrateful heart.

Your goodness has been with me during another year.

Your goodness will be with me in the year ahead.

If you have appointed trials for me, you will be with me in them.

If I am to die, I will see your face sooner.

In comfort and in trial, glorify yourself in me, and make me useful and faithful in your service.
